44th Lorient Interceltic Festival - The Year of Ireland, 1-10 August 2014.
An immense popular success! The Interceltic Festival of Lorient finishes on a great high! On the penultimate day of the festivities more than 750 000 festival-goers were counted, making this 44th edition the greatest box-office smash since 2011.
The programme of concerts proved extremely popular, with seven sell-out performances inclusing the Great Night of Ireland, the evening in hommage to Anne of Brittany and the exceptional concert by Suzanne Vega.
The Irish pavilion claims to have welcomed more than 100 000 visiteurs for 130 hours of music all through the festival.
The afternoon musical programme has also been on the rise; notable highlights being the afternoon folk sessions and sacred music concerts at the Saint-Louis Church.
The Festival direction is elated to see the growth of a new generation of festival-goers who join an established base of enthusiasts.
Meet us next year from the 7th to the 16th August 2015 in Lorient
to celebrate the year of Cornwall and The Isle of Man!
